Learn More — Volunteers & Businesses
Ways to Get Involved
-
Mentor: Share your trade knowledge directly with students during hands-on training.
-
Host a visit: Talk with a cohort about your business, the jobs you're hiring for, and what you look for in an employee.
-
Sponsor: Support the program financially at a level that fits you.
-
Donate: Tools, equipment, and supplies go directly toward hands-on training.
Keeping Students Safe
Because we work directly with youth, every volunteer with recurring student contact completes a criminal background check before starting, renewed at least every two years. We also follow a two-adult rule: whenever possible, no volunteer is alone with a single student outside the presence of another screened adult. This isn't paperwork for its own sake, it's how we earn the trust of every family who sends us a student.
Sponsorship Levels
-
Protégé — up to $500
-
Journeyman — $1,000
-
Master — $5,000, includes a discount coupon for renovation work
The Wishing Well Fund
Each training cohort works on an active job site contracted through Rock-n-Roll Construction. 25% of every project goes into the Wishing Well Fund, which pays student stipends of $15/hour. Your sponsorship keeps that fund, and those stipends, going.
What You Get in Return
A pipeline of local, trained talent who already know your industry, plus a direct hand in shaping the workforce you'll be hiring from for years to come. Annual sponsors receive a brief each year showing how their contribution changed lives.
